  • Stuffing
  • Small plastic rattle inserts

Handle:

Rnd 4: SC in the next 18 rows.

Ears 2x:

Rnd 1: start with a magic circle (6sc)

Rnd 2: INC in all 6 stitches (12sc)

Rnd 3: SC for 1 row (12sc)

Rnd 4: SC in the next 2 st, INV DEC, for 1 row (9sc)

Now it’s time to sew everything together.

  1. Sew the head and the body together leaving an opening for you to attach the safety eyes, ( I find it easier to put the eyes on after sewing the head and body together, leaving a gap for you to fit your fingers through to attach the eyes. This way you don’t have to worry about keeping the eyes in the middle when sewing ) stuffing, and rattle insert.
  2. I place my safety eyes in the middle row of the head, about 10 stitches apart
  3. Using the embroidery thread, sew on the nose and mouth on the row that’s just below the eyes.
  4. Attach the ears, they can be as high or low on the head as you’d like. I generally place mine starting on the 4th row from the middle.

That’s it! You have an adorable new baby rattle. Make sure to tag me on instagram @illuminecreative or fb.me/illuminecreative if you decide to give this a try, i’d love to see your color combos.
