Hey! My name is Carmen.

I’m 25 years old, live in Kamloops BC and have been crocheting off and on since I was 12. I’ve always been a creative person, trying to figure out how something was made and attempting to recreate it myself. I’ve tried many different artforms and loved each one but crochet is what I am most passionate about.

Fun Fact: I didn’t know how to read crochet terminology until late this year (2017) and have learned everything I know from my mom, grandma, or watching videos! I am getting better at reading/writing patterns though.

Crafting and designing is where I’m happiest and I chose the name Illumine (pronounced EH-LOO-MIN; meaning “light up”) to describe the feeling i’m trying to achieve with my designs; the feeling of giving someone a gift and seeing their face light up with happiness.
